Beaverton located in the heart of the Tualatin Valley, like many Portland area communities, sits midway between Mt. Hood to the east and and the spectacular Oregon coast to the West.  it is just 7 miles to the west of Portland and all its big city amenities and activities. Though close, Beaverton also has its own unique special events and entertainment. Summerfest is a community and family festival that brings thousands of people to Griffith Park in July. The festival includes music, fine food, a wine pavilion, fun family activities and a wonderful crafters market.

Beaverton, yes was really named after the beavers that had created their dams in the local water, and still has the great outdoors as its backyard - forests open to rolling hills, rivers, and wetlands. With more than 100 parks encompassing 1,000 acres - more designated "green space" than most cities of its size, the city offers 30+ miles of hiking trails and a network of bike paths that will take you 25 miles!  Many other recreational opportunities are found in Beaverton, including swimming pools, tennis courts, softball fields, golf courses and of course the sport of shopping, with easy access to westside's largest shopping district.

Recognized as one of the best in the West by both Sunset and Country Gardens magazines, Beaverton Farmers Market is an old-fashioned, unique outdoor market experience bursting with the colors and tastes of the season!  Open every Saturday, May thru October rain or shine!  All this and more contribute to Beaverton's growing popularity as a great place to visit, live and do business.
