Tigard is located just 10 miles southwest of downtown Portland. Easily accessible from Interstate 5, Highway 99W and Highway 217 makes Tigard an ideal location for its 45000 residents. Tri-Met offers an easy commute option for many, and the MAX system now available on the Westside runs east to downtown or west to Hillsboro's tech center.
Tigard is a family focused community, with neighborhoods anchored by schools that are part of the Tigard/Tualatin school disctrict. The community offers a mix of older neighborhoods and lovely new home that are creeping up the side of Bull Mountain.

Tigard participates in the Portland Rose Festival each year with its Festival of Balloons. An incredible site as hot air balloons take flight from Cook Park and circle the city. This 79 acre park is the largest in Tigard and is located along the Tualatin River. Recreation around Tigard include private and public golf course, many city parks, outdoor tennis courts and of course bike and walking paths. Both Summerlake and Fanno Creek Parks are a haven to waterfowl right in the middle of this suburban community.
Schools: Tigards 9 elementary, 3 middle, and 2 high schools offer a quality education for our students. Standardized State testing established benchmarks are reguired in grades 3, 5, 7, and 10. Tigard/Tualatin district has met most benchmarks, and continues to focus on 100% achievement.
